Future Leaders Institute
Designed for young professionals with less than 15 years of work experience. The Institute is a two and a half day program that focuses on strengthening the leadership skills of young IH professionals.

Students and Early Career Professionals (SECP) Committee
The committee’s p
urpose is to engage students at various educational levels, and apprise them of opportunities available in the OEHS industry; provide opportunities for students to learn more about their chosen area of study; and promote interaction between students and professionals in the field of OEHS.

Student Local Sections
Participation in a student local section is one of the primary paths to association leadership and is an excellent way for interested students
to get active in the association and the industrial hygiene profession. If there is no student local section at your college or university, encourage faculty and students to begin one. Lead the way for a new IH community at your school by accessing the Student Local Section Implementation Kit.


Student Local Sections Council
The Student Local Sections Council's purpose is to develop and enhance student local sections by fostering the development of leadership skills within the students and strengthening the connection of student local sections to AIHA. 

Student Teleweb Loan Program
Archived CDs are available to AIHA student members or AIHA academic members for use in the classroom. Students and professors are invited to borrow archived telewebs for up to two (2) weeks.


AIHce Student and Young Member Activities

Join thousands of OEHS professionals at the largest industrial hygiene gathering of the year, AIHce.  As a student member of AIHA, take advantage of the reduced registration fee.

Course Monitors (Pre-Conference): Student Volunteer Opportunity 
AIHA invites all students who plan to attend the annual AIHce to sign-up and register to be a Professional Development Course (PDC) Monitor. If assigned, you will have the opportunity to attend the course you are monitoring for FREE. To participate, please contact the PDC - Continuing Education Coordinator.

Traditionally scheduled for Sunday night during conference to welcome students and young members to AIHce. 

Local Section and Foundation Student Mixer

Students have the opportunity to meet with the Local Section Council and network with scholarship recipients.  This is your opportunity to learn how to apply for an American Industrial Hygiene Foundation Scholarship.

Meet other student local section officers and share best practices with one another.

Student Tech Talks 

Designed specifically for students and early career professionals, AIHA members lead informal discussions on a variety of topics including goals, certification, volunteering and more.

Student Track

Technical sessions specifically designed to meet the needs of AIHce student attendees.

Students and Early Career Professionals (SECP) Committee Meeting
Interact with members of the SECP committee. Discuss current and new projects focused on developing outreach materials and providing mentors to students and young professionals.  New volunteers, including students, are encouraged to attend. 

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Poster Session
Display the latest research on important and timely issues. Authors are present to discuss findings at specified time during the conference. All posters are eligible for numerous AIHA committee and conference awards.

Volunteer Group Meetings
AIHA has more than 45 volunteer groups who focus on a variety of technical topics and several that address student needs. Unless otherwise noted, volunteer group meetings are open to all.

Volunteer Group Student Awards

Recognition presented to students with outstanding posters and presentations by various AIHA volunteer group.
